The BDA has decided to speed up the process and distribute sites at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout before the Assembly elections.
The BDA had initiated the application process in December 2017 and the last date to receive applications was February 9, 2018. Due to poor response, the deadline was extended to February 23, 2018.
According to the BDA, so far they have received 15,746 applications.
BDA Chairman R Venkatesh said there was no connection between the distribution of sites and elections.
"We are just initiating the next process as we do not want the applicants to wait for long," Venkatesh said.
The information related to application and status will be updated online and the process will be completed within two weeks.
The BDA will distribute sites once the process is completed, said an official on condition of anonymity.
Seniority of applicants will be kept in mind while finalising the list. This time since the number of applications is less, the process will be faster, the official added.
