‘Destiny 2’ DLC 2 Fallen Warmind Story & Release Date Possibly Leaked

Destiny 2 gets its next major DLC drop this spring, and a new leak reveals potential details about what it might feature. Reddit screenshots of a removed GameStop store page outline the potential plot of an expansion called The Fallen Warmind.

For those who can’t clearly see the picture below, here’s the summary as listed on its product page.

Destiny 2 Expansion II: The Fallen Warmind continues your Guardian's journey with all-new story missions and adventures set in a new destination, Mars. Rasputin has mysteriously vanished, and Ana Bray has returned to The Last City, warning of a dark uprising on Mars. Discover the conspiracy behind his disappearance, prevent the rise of a corrupted Warmind and uncover the truth behind the Collapse.

  • Explore Mars and the Deep Stone Crypt beneath its surface
  • New story missions and adventures
  • New themed weapons, armor and gear to earn
  • New cooperative activities
  • New competitive multiplayer arenas
  • And more…

This leak corroborates, or capitalizes on, leaked screenshots that allegedly appeared on GameStop and Amazon store pages late last week featuring the same name. While not shown in these new photos, the expansion’s listed release date was previously reported to be Tuesday, May 8. Ironically,  while these two leaks appear to be related, they directly contradict the very first Destiny 2 DLC 2 leak from late December. At that time evidence from the PlayStation Store and described an expansion called Gods Of Mars set to release in March.

As for this new description, it sounds just reasonable enough to be real. Mars is a beloved location from the first Destiny, so going back there for DLC makes plenty of sense. Leveraging an existing map layout would also theoretically allow Bungie to create new content relatively quickly. Especially when trying to add a huge chunk of plot to such a complex game, any push toward faster iteration would be a pretty smart play.

The described story arc ties back to box art that surfaced long before the game’s release as well. In early April, Destiny 2’s Xbox store page clearly featured Rasputin’s Warmind logo when purchasing the game’s Gold Edition that includes the season pass. In other words, all the dots seem to connect to the speculation and facts we already know.

That being said, establishing those sorts of links is precisely what well-crafted fake leaks attempt to do. This steady stream of single screenshots of live store pages (ostensibly accessible to millions of people) doesn’t do much to establish credibility. The photos aren’t very clear either, which could deliberately conceal any possible evidence that these pictures may not be genuine. We’re unsure how to feel about this Fallen Warmind chatter, but it may be worth keeping in the back of your mind.

Destiny 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game’s second DLC pack is confirmed to release this spring.
