Likening the residual State of Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation to a critically-ill infant placed in an incubator and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief paediatrician, former MLA S.A. Rehaman has said, “At a time when the infant needed some support from the chief paediatrician, he withdrew support and let the infant suffer.”
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said, “During the run-up to the 2014 general and Assembly elections, Mr. Narendra Modi had said that residual AP was an infant and he would take care of it, if he was elected as Prime Minister, at a rally in Visakhapatnam. And based on the assurance the people of Visakhapatnam, especially the minorities had voted him to power. But after becoming the Prime Minister, he appears to have forgotten the promise.”
He further went ahead to say that none of the promises such as revenue deficit, SCS, Polavaram, steel plant at Kadapa, was addressed by the Central government.
Supporting the decision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu asking both Central Ministers from AP to resign, he said, “We are still not out of the NDA. We have given BJP one more chance to rectify the mistakes and the ball is in their court.”
