A Bangladeshi undertrial prisoner today escaped from a local hospital where he had been admitted four days ago because of illness, police said. It was detected early in the morning that the 40-year-old prisoner had escaped from the window of the hospital toilet using a rope. Sk Safikul, who hails from Naogaon district of Bangladesh, was wanted by the police here on various charges. He was arrested a few weeks ago and was admitted to the Malda Medical College and Hospital on March 8 because of illness, police said. The police started searching for him.
