The golden phase of Marathi cinema — films with strong content across various genres and also garnering box office success — has seen many Hindi veteran actors making their debut in Marathi cinema. One more addition to this list is Kay Kay Menon. Kay Kay is set to make his Marathi acting debut in Devi Sateri Productions and debutant director Lokesh Vijay Gupte’s venture Ek Sangaychay — Unsaid Harmony.

The title of the film was recently launched in Mumbai. Sanjay Memane and Pushpank Gawade will helm the camera, lyrics will be written by actor Jitendra Joshi, and music will be composed by Shailesh Barve.

Talking about his Marathi film debut, Kay Kay said, “I watch Marathi cinema regularly and the films touch me and my heart. When Lokesh narrated the story to me, it touched my sensitivity and I immediately gave my nod. Since I stay in Maharashtra, I understand Marathi very well. I am going to learn  more of the language to essay my character in this film.”

Lokesh added that Ek Sangaychay is based on the silent bonding between children and parents and the changing lifestyles. “Parents expect a lot from their children; they want the kids to excel at the rat race. This affects their relationship. Ek Sangaychay dwells on this sensitive issue,” he said.

He added that he wanted a powerful actor with a lot of sensitivity and great personality. “I wanted someone who will understand the gravitas of the subject and act accordingly. I have found such an actor in Kay Kay. He convinced not only the director in me but also the writer. When I met him personally, I knew instantly that I had  made the right choice,” explains Lokesh. Ek Sangaychay — Unsaid Harmony will release on October 18 all over Maharashtra.
