Gold, foreign currency seized in airport
The Air Intelligence unit of Customs along with revenue officials seized foreign currency and gold ornaments worth Rs 22 lakh at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Sunday.
Reports said that four passengers hailing from Delhi, Kolkata and Cuttack arrived from Bangkok by an Air India flight (AI339) here on the day.
Based on intelligence inputs, Customs and revenue officials intercepted them and recovered gold jewellery, foreign currency and other items of foreign make from their possession during search.
