Two top executive members – assistant secretary Srinjoy Bose and finance secretary Debashis Dutta – today resigned from century old Mohun Bagan Club in protest against alleged that dictatorship of the club secretary – Anjan Mitra-.
The two senior members of the club, who could be seen most active and visit whenever the club goes to play across the country, in a joint media conference at Calcutta Sports Journalists Club that they have quit the club this noon.
The duo at around 1400 hours went to the club premises near Eden Eden Gardens and submitted their quit letter respectively.They alleged that the club secretary was not holding the election for past eight years and running show at his whim.
Mohun Banag winners of I-League in 2014-15 were third in the Hero I League this season, after Punjab Minerva won the championship and NEROCA FC of Manipur emerged the runners up.Both Mr Bose and Mr Dutta, however said before their resignation they made a list of 25 players for the coming Super Cup championship.
