Bail for private detective in CDR case

| Updated: Mar 13, 2018, 03:20 IST
THANE: Private detective Rajani Pandit (61) was on Monday granted conditional bail by the district sessions court after a five-week custody for alleged involvement in sourcing call data records (CDRs) illegally.

Pandit will be released from Thane central jail on Tuesday, said advocate Poonam Jadhav, who represents the private detective here. Sessions judge A S Bhaisare granted the bail on a surety of Rs 20,000 but rejected the bail plea of two other private detectives, Prashant Palekar and Jasprit Marwah.

Bhaisare pointed out in his order that Palekar and Marwah were involved in illegally sourcing CDRs, while Pandit had not obtained but collected them from others for her clients, and did not sell them. Police said they are working on more leads. tnn
