In May 2018, Mardin in Turkey to organize freerunning, parkour world championship

Turkey.parkour world championshipThis year, the world championship of freerunning and parkour, one of the fastest growing sports branches in the world, will take place in the Mardin province of southeast Turkey.

 

Over 1 billion people are anticipated to witness the live event on 100 channels across the globe.

 
Of late, the adventure enthusiasts who jump from building to building have started attracting attention. Known as freerunning and parkour, the event is the world’s swiftest growing sporting event. Every year the event is organized in the Greek island of Santorini, will be arranged in Mardin this year.

 
More than 25 freerunners across the globe will take part in the championship that would be held in May, 2018. Predominantly, great interest has been shown by Middle Eastern youth in the event, which is all set to greet region’s 60 freerunners at the world championship level.

 
The advertising corresponding to the event which will be telecasted in 100 global channels which are hoped to reach 3 billion euros.

 
Selim Kamahlı, the chairman of Casa Productions, which actually attracted the event to Turkey with the joint aid of the Ministry of Tourism, explained that the challenge will make important contribution behind the recognition of Mardin worldwide.

 
Kamahlı observed that freerunning and parkour, world’s one of the fastest growing sports branches is particularly common among young people in the Middle East.

 
“In the world, the period of promotion via classical advertising is now over. It has been replaced by international events,” he said. “Therefore, the prospect of such projects is increasing. While you spend billions of liras on an ad, you spend millions of dollars on such projects and provide billions of liras of advertising equivalent.”
