Focus on becoming better persons, says BM Sharma

Education should not be overly focused on learning and getting a degree alone. It would be more productive if one should focus instead on becoming better persons, equipped to accomplish greater things in life. It is important that students should move in a positive direction to better themselves and the society as a whole. Learning for just its own sake is hollow and less productive.

These were some of the views expressed by BM Sharma, the Divisional Commissioner of Gwalior Division while inaugurating a career fair at the KRG College.

The commissioner told the students that for better career options it is imperative to have technical knowledge in various fields along with academic studies. He further said that the central Government as well as the State Government has initiated many programs to provide self employment, and exhorted the students to make use of these opportunities.

The two days Career Fair organized by KRG College in collaboration with the Science College will provide guidance and career opportunities to students. On the first day many representatives from various companies were seen counseling students on career opportunities in and outside India.

The event was attended by Rahul Jain, the district collector, KS Segar, the principal of KRG College, students, teachers, educational agents and educational advisers apart from journalists and officials.
