One of Hollywood's most respected filmmakers, Woody Allen, continues to be shunned by more big names in the business.

First Griffin Newman, Rebecca Hall, Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez donated their salaries from Woody Allen's upcoming movie, A Rainy Day in New York, to the Time's Up movement. Then Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig, Oscar winner Natalie Portman, and actress Ellen Page all said that they regret working with Woody Allen. Even the Academy winning actress Kate Winslet, who worked with Allen in the movie Wonder Wheelsaid she regrets working with some men in the position of power.

After all of this, the legendary actor Michael Caine has spoken out against Woody Allen. Caine, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1986 for the Woody Allen written-directed movie Hannah and Her Sisters, gave an interview to The Guardian in which he spoke about his friend and longtime collaborator Woody Allen.

Speaking to The Guardian, Caine said:

"I am so stunned. I am a patron of the NSPCC [National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children] and have very strong views about pedophilia. I can’t come to terms with [the allegation], because I loved Woody and had a wonderful time with him. I even introduced him to Mia [Farrow]. I don’t regret working with him, which I did in complete innocence; but I wouldn’t work with him again, no."

Woody Allen has been accused of sexually molesting his adoptive daughter, Dylan Farrow. The case grabbed headlines globally in 1993 after the accusations first surfaced, but Allen was never prosecuted in this case and has consistently denied wrongdoing. In February, 2014, Dylan Farrow wrote a firsthand account of her harrowing experiences in The New York Times.

Allen, on the other hand, has maintained his innocence. He has said that the allegation was investigated at the time of the alleged incident and that he was never charged.

“I never molested my daughter – as all investigations concluded a quarter of a century ago,” Allen said in a statement in January. “When this claim was first made more than 25 years ago, it was thoroughly investigated by both the Child Sexual Abuse Clinic of the Yale-New Haven Hospital and New York State Child Welfare. They both did so for many months and independently concluded that no molestation had ever taken place.”

The 84-year-old Michael Caine is the narrator, co-producer, and star of a new documentary film, My Generation, which details his remembrance of 1960's London.
