Jeff Hardy Arrest: WWE Superstar Booked for DWI

Over the weekend, WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy was arrested in North Carolina for driving while impaired.

According to Wrestling Inc , Hardy struck a guardrail around 8 p.m. on March 10, causing his car to spin out into the middle of the road. TMZ Sports reports Hardy submitted to a breathalyzer test before his arrest on Saturday and blew a .25, which is more than three times the legal limit. Pro Wrestling Sheet reports Hardy was booked around 10:30 p.m. and released about an hour later.

PWInsider reports Hardy received a 30-day pre-trial revocation of his driver’s license and is set to appear in Cabarrus County Court on April 16. At this time, no charges have been filed against Hardy.

A WWE rep gave Pro Wrestling Sheet the following statement on Hardy’s arrest. “Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions. We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials."

Along with his older brother, Matt, Hardy returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 33 in 2017, capturing the RAW tag team titles. Jeff tore his rotator cuff that September, sustaining the injury during a six-pack challenge at the No Mercy pay-per-view. Hardy was scheduled to return to in-ring action soon after being cleared by a surgeon, but was awaiting the go-ahead from WWE.

Matt is currently involved in a feud with Bray Wyatt, which is culminating with a pre-taped match called The Ultimate Deletion. Given Jeff’s involvement with his brother’s Broken/Woken gimmick in the past, it’s possible the younger Hardy will insert himself into the feud.

Jey Uso, one half of the current SmackDown Live tag champions, was arrested for DWI back in January and was not disciplined by the WWE. The company gave the same statement and Uso appeared on WWE television not long after his arrest, so it seems unlikely Hardy will be disciplined unless new information comes out.
