Marine Le Pen wants to rename French 'National Front' to 'National Rally'

She proposed that the party be renamed "Le Rassemblement National" or "National Rally", in an attempt to broaden its appeal

Marine Le Pen, the of France's far-right National Front, wants to rename the party after her failed bid for last year, the media reported on Monday.

made the announcement during her keynote speech on Sunday at the party's congress in the northern French town of Lille, reports

Party members will vote to approve the name change by postal ballot in the coming weeks.
