Ellen Pompeo, who is no stranger to speaking her mind on Twitter, is again opening up about the exits of her Grey's Anatomy co-stars Sarah Drew and Jessica Capshaw, who will be exiting at the end of this current season.

The news spurred outrage from fans of the series who were not happy about seeing longtime characters April (Drew) and Arizona (Capshaw) go, with some blaming their departures on Pompeo's recent salary increase. However, Pompeo quickly shut down rumors that her raise had anything to do with Drew and Capshaw leaving the Shondaland drama, and now she's responding to fans who are lashing out at the show about letting the actresses go.

"We R grateful all of you are so passionate but if you knew these two women the way I know them they would not approve of all this nastiness," she wrote on Twitter. "They both are super shiny happy people. I know you're angry but you're representation couldn't be further from who these women actually are."

Grey's Anatomy Planning to Kill Off April?

Pompeo then responded to a fan who asked a rhetorical question about their right to be "angry at this injustice." "You are but spreading acceptance and love is our message with Greys and what all of the actors try to do with our performances on this show," she said.

While it's unclear how April and Arizona will be written out of the series, we do know that April's exit will be a bit more complicated since she shares a child with Jackson (Jesse Williams), leading man fans to worry that she'll be killed off.

Grey's Anatomy continues Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC.
