Army personnel’s wife commits suicide at her residence

A 35-year-old woman, Sudha Yadav, committed suicide at her residence at Kumharpara under Sonari police station area on Sunday morning. Sudha was the wife of SK Yadav, an army personnel, SK Yadav, who is posted at Kargil.

Sudha's body was found hanging by her elder son Sumeet (18) from the ceiling fan at the residence in Kumharpara. She was rushed to Tata Main Hospital emergency where the doctors declared her brought dead.

A police official said that as the deceased's husband is away in Kargil, the body would be sent to MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem only after his arrival in the city. OC, Sonari police station, Anuj Kumar confirmed that a young woman who was the wife of an army personnel committed suicide by hanging.

"We are investigating the incident. The deceased Sudha was suspected to have committed suicide in wee hours," said Kumar.

The officer-in-charge said the woman was in depression for the last two months and she ended her life due to depression. In a statement to the police, the deceased’s son, Sumeet, has stated that his mother was suffering from depression. "Yes my mother was in depression. She would not talk much. But we cannot say anything about the cause of depression," said Sumeet.
