A 55-year-old man who used to sleep in front of shops at night was found dead at Angamaly early on Sunday morning.
The body of Satyan from Chalakudy, who was a cobbler, was found near a juice shop along the national highway. His head was found crushed with a heavy stone. Some migrant labourers had reportedly picked a quarrel with Satyan on Saturday evening. A forensic team has been deployed to gather clues about the incident.
In another incident, a partially decomposed body of a man, aged around 65 years, was found at an open ground at Alunchavodu on Sunday. Relatives of the man named Stanley, who had gone missing from Palarivattom two weeks ago, identified the body based on the clothes he was wearing. The police are awaiting DNA report.
He was reportedly mentally disturbed and used to roam around often. A case of unnatural death has been registered.
