Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron arrived at Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur today.


The leaders inaugurated a solar power plant there.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in his Lok Sabha constituency -- Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi -- to welcome French President Emmanuel Macron this morning and to travel to neighbouring Mirzapur district, to inaugurate a 100 MW solar power plant.


French President Emmanuel Macron, who is on a four-day visit to India, was welcomed by PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath in Varanasi.


Modi and Macron are also scheduled to take a boat ride from Assi to Dashaswamedh Ghat in Varanasi today. The leaders will also meet artisans at the Deen Dayal Hastkala Sankul in Bada Lalpur.

PM Modi will host a lunch in honour of Macron today.

In the afternoon, the Modi will flag off a train between Maduadih railway station in Varanasi and Patna. He will launch various development projects and address a public meeting at the DLW Grounds in Varanasi.
