 The death toll in Nepal's plane crash has risen to 49.
A plane carrying 71 passengers and crew has crashed on landing at Nepal's Kathmandu airport.
Rescuers pulled bodies from the charred wreckage of the plane, operated by Bangladeshi airline US-Bangla, after a raging fire was put out.
Flight BS211 veered off the runway while landing today afternoon. One survivor who managed to break through a window says, the aircraft gave a violent shake, followed by a bang.
Nepal Army spokesperson Brigadier Gokul Bhandari said that rescue operations have been completed. He told AIR that 22 people are being treated in hospital for injuries.
Offering his condolences, Nepalese Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli assured of an immediate investigation. This is the worst aviation disaster to hit Nepal in nearly three decades.
The aircraft took off from Dhaka and landed at the airport at 2:20 pm (local time).
