Alert businessman, constable catch chain snatchers

An alert businessman and a beat constable nabbed two chain snatchers in Girinagar on Sunday evening.

The suspects, Nagaraj (30) and his associate Joseph (25), intercepted Ratnamma, a resident of Hosakerehalli, while she was returning home from her evening walk around 7.30 pm. They snatched Ratnamma's gold chain and fled from the spot. The victim raised an alarm. Ravi Kumar, a city-based businessman, began chasing the suspects who were heading towards Mysuru road.

Kumar then found constable Manjunath, attached to the Byatarayanapura traffic police. Manjunath and Kumar chased the suspects and managed to nab them with the help of passers-by. The suspects have been arrested and a case has been registered at the Girinagar police station.
