Four persons were today arrested for allegedly smuggling bovine in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district, police said today. Based on a reliable information, a police party set up checking point for frisking at the Manwal area in the district, they said. During checking, police party intercepted one truck for checking and six bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle, he said. All the bovine animals were rescued and four accused -- Sameer Ahmed, Farooq Malik, Mohd Rafiq and Basharat -- of the Banihal belt of Ramban district and Anantnag district of Kashmir were arrested and the vehicle was also seized. A case has been registered at Police Station Majalta and further investigation is underway, officer said.
