Man allegedly filmed shopper, committed 'obscene' act in Byford

A man was arrested on Sunday after allegedly using a handheld camcorder to film a woman at Byford Market car park, while committing "an obscene act" in his car.

He was arrested at the scene around midday, WA Police said, where he had allegedly filmed the woman entering and exiting the Abernethy Road shopping centre, and loading her shopping into her car.

Armadale Detectives have charged the 39-year-old Byford man with committing an obscene act in public. He is due to appear at Armadale Magistrates Court on March 23.

Further analysis of electronic storage devices owned by the man is ongoing. Detectives urge anyone with any information regarding this matter to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online.
