The ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday has asked its Cabinet Minister Haseeb Drabu to step down following his speech that Kashmir “was not a political issue but a social problem”.
A senior government official confirmed to The Hindu that the Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister has been asked “to step down from his portfolio”.
“A formal order is likely to follow,” said the official.
The official added that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will apprise about the decision to the Raj Bhavan soon.
