A 30-year-old man was allegedly killed for complaining of unhygienic food at a restaurant by three of its employees in east Delhi’s Preet Vihar, police said on Sunday.
Head injuries
The victim, Pawan Kumar, died due to severe head injuries, said police.
The police control room received a call around 5 p.m. regarding a brawl at Kamal Dhaba, near Preet Vihar metro station.
A police team reached the spot and rushed Mr. Kumar to Max Hospital.
He was admitted to the ICU said police adding that he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday evening.
During investigation, it was found that a feud took place at the restaurant between the victim and three employees over the quality of food.
Hit multiple times
Irked over the complaint of unhygienic food, the employees attacked Mr. Kumar. They hit him multiple times on the head with a broken ladle (karchi).
Following this, Mr. Kumar collapsed on the spot.
“The injured was taken to hospital and an FIR under Indian Penal Code [IPC] Section 307 [attempt to murder] and Section 302 [murder] was registered at Preet Vihar police station. Three employees of the restaurant identified as Sachin, Govind and Karan have been arrested. An investigation is in the progress,” said an officer.
The officer added that they are also looking for CCTV camera footage from the area.
