What Happened to Tim McGraw? Country Singer Collapses Onstage Due to Dehydration

Tim McGraw was forced to cut short his concert in Dublin, Ireland, on Sunday night, after he collapsed on stage due to dehydration. McGraw was treated by on-site medical staff and will reportedly be fine.

According to a report from BBC, the 50-year-old musician had just finished performing his hit single "Humble and Kind" when he sat down near his keyboard player, then dropped to his knees while walking off stage. After a while, McGraw's wife and co-headliner Faith Hill came out to tell the crowd McGraw could not finish the concert.

"He's been super dehydrated," Hill said to the crowd, in a video captured by an audience member. "I apologize, but I made the decision that he cannot come back out and sing. So always drink water, keep yourself hydrated!" The crowd cheered in support and began chanting "Get Well Tim."

Hill sang one last song with the band—an a capella version of the hymn "What A Friend We Have in Jesus"—and then the audience was sent home.

A representative for McGraw confirmed the incident was due to dehydration and that he is not in any medical danger. "Tim McGraw was suffering from dehydration in Dublin this evening at the C2C show. He was attended to by local medical staff on-site and will be fine," the rep wrote in a statement. “He and Faith thank everyone for their love and support and look forward to seeing their Irish fans again soon."

The show at Dublin's 3 Arena was part of the C2C: Country to Country festival, which McGraw and Hill headlined. Many fans at the show and at home sent out love and support to McGraw on Twitter. A few concertgoers even refused to leave until they were certain McGraw was OK.

The Dublin concert was also the third and final show on the European leg of Hill and McGraw's Soul2Soul: The World Tour. The tour began in April 2017, with 70 shows in the first North American leg. After a two-month hiatus, the couple will resume the tour in Richmond, Virginia, to kick off the remaining 39 dates on the Soul2Soul itinerary.
