Youth held for abusing girlfriend
The Oupada police in Baleswar district on Sunday arrested a 22-year-old youth who slapped and abused his estranged girlfriend in filthy language in public when the latter was returning home from college.
The accused, identified as Hemanta Ghadei, had committed the offence against his former girlfriend, a Plus Two final year student of a local college, about two months ago.
The police acted after the video of slapping scene went viral recently in social media.
