Beauty Beat: The benefits of 'baby botox'
Stephanie Darling gets expressive on the benefits of “baby Botox” – and finds the chicest car fragrance in captivity.
Road Test
This week I try …a mini Botox treatment
The lowdown It's been a while since my last Botox treatment and my face is looking a little fatigued; so I'm with injecting magician Dr Joseph Hkeik for some "baby Botox" (aka mini Botox) that will leave my face looking refreshed but definitely not frozen.
It involves much smaller and subtler doses of Botox, which Joseph injects into my forehead, laugh lines, brows and chin. The reduced dose allows more movement in my face. Joseph refers to this smaller dosing as "the 'actor's treatment', as it is designed to remove the wrinkles without removing the expression".
Pain factor Minimal.
Downtime 20 minutes
Results The Botox takes a couple of days to kick in. By day four, my face looks rested and my eyes are less hooded as a result of the Botox's strategic placement in my brow and forehead muscles.

Trend: New Glosses
The latest batch of lip glosses all look good enough to eat. They come in lip-enhancing hues and finishes, from universally flattering peach to mother-of-pearl and even a cooling, barely-there blue tinge.
We love them worn on their own, or you can try swiping them over a favourite lipstick.
How do I restore my nails from a shellac addiction?
Give your nails a break between long-lasting polish cycles, as prolonged use can cause them to weaken and peel. In the time off, apply a nail-strengthening product like Mavala Scientifique K+ ($31, mavala.com.au) and use a dedicated cuticle and hand cream. We love Aesop's Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm ($31, aesop.com/au).
Figuier (as well as Ambre, Feu de Bois and Baies). Un Air de Diptyque Car Diffuser, $73, and capsule, $45.
