CHENNAI: Unidentified men hurled lit petrol-filled bottles on the house of a
Hindu Makkal Katchi functionary near
Periyapalayam in
Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu in the early hours of Sunday.
Police sources said miscreants hurled the bottles on the house of Sharathkumar around 2am.
Hearing an explosion, Sharathkumar and his family members came out of the house and saw a cot outside the house on fire. They doused the fire with water.
Police said a teashop owner in the area had seen two men, who had come here on a motorcycle, hurling bottles on the house. However, their identities were not established.
Police were trying to nab the men behind the incident.
