An FIR was lodged against the Bihar state BJP president, Nityanand Rai, on Saturday for giving provocative speeches and violating the model code of conduct during the Araria Lok Sabha bypolls campaign.

While campaigning for the BJP candidate Pradeep Kumar Singh at the Narpatganj election rally on March 9, Nityanand Rai said that if the RJD candidate Sarfaraz Alam wins the elections from Araria, the region would become an ISI den.

Nityanand Rai further said that if Pradeep Kumar Singh wins, then the spirit of patriotism would increase in Araria.

After seeing the footage of Nityanand Rai's inflammatory speech, an FIR was lodged at Narpantganj police station with the circle officer, Nishant Kumar.
