With the Election Commission of India expected to announce the dates for Assembly polls in the State shortly, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah went on an inauguration spree in his native Mysuru on Saturday.
Mr. Siddaramaiah, who had a Janata Darshan of receiving petitions from people in his Ramakrishna Nagar residence, started late for the first scheduled programme – inauguration of the 66/11 KV’s Gas Insulated Station set up by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL) at Saraswathipuram.
He participated in at least 16 development programmes, which included inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for public facilities.
After inaugurating KPTCL facility, Mr. Siddaramaiah inaugurated the concrete roads which had been completed months ago and thrown open for traffic. He arrived two hours late for the function organised to allot sites to beneficiaries of Lalithadrinagar North Layout. After completing the formalities in quick time, Mr. Siddaramaiah gave a short address and left the venue to participate in the other functions.
The other programmes he attended on Saturday included the inauguration of the newly built Deputy Commissioner’s Office in German Press premises in Siddharthanagar, the inauguration of the laid road from Outer Ring Road to Dairy Circle, 350-bedded Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, the Nephro Urology Centre on K.R. Hospital premises, Trauma Care Centre on PKTB Hospital premises, Nature Cure and Yoga College building and kitchen in Brindavan Extension and so on.
