Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu discussed the way forward on maintaining pressure on the Union government to concede its demands related to the A.P. Reorganisation Act and the Special Category Status (SCS) and selecting the candidates for the three Rajya Sabha seats in a meeting with Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, K. Kala Venkat Rao and others here on Saturday.
Mr. Naidu reportedly enquired about YSRCP MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy’s statement that the BJP would grant the SCS and its possible impact on the TDP-BJP alliance which was on the brink of collapse in the wake of the resignation of the TDP Ministers from the Union Cabinet.
Regarding the RS elections, Mr. Naidu asked about the probable candidates and the support to be elicited from the BJP at a time when they were gradually distancing from each other.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said at a press conference the YSRC was gravitating towards the BJP to get the slew of corruption charges levelled against Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Vijaya Sai Reddy dismissed.
