Mount Barker police investigate after car driven into skating bowl, set alight

A car has been driven into a skating bowl and set on fire at a local park in Mount Barker overnight.

At around 2.30am, it's understood a group of unknown offenders drove the white 1992 model Ford Laser hatchback into the skate park on Lowood Road.

The car was then set alight, and the heat from the fire damaged the skating bowl.

The car was destroyed, and Mount Barker Volunteer Fire Brigade officers attended and extinguished the fire.

The cost of the damage is estimated at $5000.
