DGP reviews State crime situation

DGP Dr RP Sharma on Friday reviewed the crime control and maintenance of law and order in the State with the SPs, DCPs and Range IGPs/DIGPs through videoconferencing. Senior police officers of State police headquarters were present.

Sharma took a thorough review of the crime scenario and asked the SPs to take special interest in the day –to- day policing work and take leadership from the front.

During the review, it was found that a total of 7,746 pending cognizable cases have been closed, 6,119 NBW executed, 1,150 absconders / accused persons arrested, 1,178 u/s 110 CRPC initiated, 15 proposals under NSA initiated and 1,031 dossiers opened during the specific period from February 15 to March 8.

Sharma specifically appreciated the performance of SPs of Cuttack Rural, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Balewar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Brahmapur, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Keonjhar for their better performance.
