In a major relief, East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) announced ‘Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2017-18, extending the benefit of waiver of 100 percent interest and penalty on previous pending outstanding property tax in all areas in the jurisdiction of EDMC i.e. authorised colonies, industrial colonies, residential colonies, commercial areas etc.
Mayor of East Delhi Neema Bhagat said this is a big relief to property owners.
“The waiver was earlier available to only unauthorised colonies and now it has been extended to all areas under EDMC’s jurisdiction to facilitate general public.
Bhagat further informed all property tax offices will remain open between 10 am and 5 pm.
The last date to avail of this waiver is 31st March, 2018.
