Four hardcore Maoists of the proscribed CPI (Maoist) were arrested at Paderu area in this district today, a senior police officer said. The four have been identified as V Maleswara Rao, V Venkata Rao, Killo Chinna Rao and Chikudu Rambabu, all from Pedabyalu village. Assistant Superintendent of Police (Paderu), Amit Burdar told reporters that these four hardcore Maoists had undergone training in placing landmines to eliminate security forces and political leaders. During questioning, they confessed to their involvement in more than 10 crimes, including the killing of two persons whom they suspected to be police informers in 2014 and 2017, he said. The four were also involved in setting ablaze road laying machinery equipment in various areas, he said.
