SAIL inaugurates Kshemalaya
PK Singh, Chairman, SAIL inaugurated a Happiness Space - Kshemalaya (literally, Abode of Wellbeing and Prosperity) - at Management Training Institute (MTI) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in Ranchi on March 7, 2018. Developed in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur, Kshemalaya makes SAIL the first corporate house in the Country to embrace Science of Happiness to enhance wellbeing and effectiveness of its employees. SAIL-MTI would also be the first corporate training institute in the country to offer training and interventions based on Science of Happiness.
NORTHERN RlY SALUTES WOMEN SPIRIT ON WOMEN'S DAY
Promoting gender diversity in the workplace and empowering lady employees especially in front-line and field duties is one of the committed endeavors on Northern Railway. As an employer, Northern Railway has a workforce that employs a significant numbers of women as officers and staff in the technical and non-technical category. Women comprise of about 15 per cent of the total workforce on Northern Railway. Marking the International Women’s Day, all divisions of Northern Railway held special programs and seminar on themes associated with women’s role as a workforce on Railways.
ESIC celebrates International Women’s Day
The ESI Corporation observed International Women’s Day at its Headquarters Office in New Delhi on March 8, 2018. Sandhya Shukla, IA & AS, Financial Commissioner, ESIC in her key note address, addressed the gathering and wished all the employees in general and women employees in particular. She further informed that ESIC has contributed a lot towards empowering women employees.
Indian Oil NRO celebrates Women’s Day
The International women’s day was celebrated with fervour and gaiety at the Northern Region Office with the participation of all women employees in a show of cultural events, experience sharing and psychological wellness sessions along with the inauguration of a first of its kind sanitary napkin dispensing unit in the Northern Region. The event was inaugurated by Harsh Sachdev, ED (RS),NR in the presence of Manish Patil, CGM (HR), NR and representatives of Indian Oil Officers Association and Petroleum Workers Union and over 100 women employees of Northern Region. Harsh Sachdev, ED(RS), NR in his address to the gathering shared the origin of the International’s Women’s day and the meaning of this year’s theme with the purple colour symbolising justice and dignity.
HUDCO Observes International Women's Day
Dr M Ravi Kanth CMD HUDCO, interacted with the women employees who constitute 30 per cent of the workforce of HUDCO. On the occasion, he announced the institution of an annual ‘Nari Shakti Award’, to be given to women employees, at all levels, for their outstanding performance.

GMCF organises SELf defence training camp

We are happy to be part of the celebration joined by more than 200 empowered woman and young girls at Tigri, Khanpur, New Delhi. We are thankful to Samman Sir, A master of Taekwondo, 10 dan black-belt (highest achiever from India), Ranjan Naruka and the two little champs Sarthak and Shristi to make the day successful and memorable for everyone.
Sanjive Roy is New GM of N.F.Railway
Sanjive Roy, an officer of Indian Railway Service of Engineers from the UPSC’s 1981 batch has joined as the new General Manager of N.F.Railway on 6th March, 2018. Roy has completed M.Tech in Structural Engineering from IIT, Kanpur after completing BE (Civil) from University of Roorkee now IIT, Roorkee.
SANITARY NAPKIN MACHINES now AT DELHI JN AND HAZRAT NIZAMUDDIN Rly STATIONS
Buttressing women health public campaigns for better menstrual hygiene and health, Indian Railways recently undertook its distinctive initiative of launching eco-friendly and affordable sanitary pads produced at the exclusive production unit ‘Dastak’ of Railway Women’s Welfare Central Organization, Sarojini Nagar , New Delhi. In keeping with the program of extending accessibility of the sanitary napkins to woman passengers at major stations, Northern Railway has now installed Automatic Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines at Delhi Jn. and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations in the national capital. Anita Chaube, President, Northern Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (NRWWO) inaugurated the vending machines at the two stations today. Members of the Northern Railway Women's Welfare Organization were also present on the occasion. Sanitary napkins at a meagre cost of Rs 22 for a single pack having 6 pads are dispensed from these machines.

Boeing and T-Hub have announced the last lap of the Boeing HorizonX India Innovation Challenge. Launched in November 2017, the challenge aims to discover and accelerate potentially transformative aerospace innovation from India. 13 startups out of 80 shortlisted entries and six teams from Boeing’s research & technology center have made it to the final round of the innovation challenge. The selected startups and internal teams will now work on perfecting their ideas and concepts to develop disruptive solutions and tackle complex challenges in multiple areas of aerospace, including autonomous and unmanned systems, advanced manufacturing, industrial IOT and automation, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The winners will be declared after the teams successfully complete their accelerator program. As part of a showcase session organized for the finalists, global startups associated with Boeing’s HorizonX and Indian startups presented their innovations to an audience that comprised of potential customers and investors.
