Former JVM legislator Navin Jaiswal who had allegedly defected to the BJP after Assembly polls 2014 presented three witnesses before the Assembly Speaker Tribunal hearing anti-defection case involving six MLAs.
As per ruling of the Tribunal, each of the MLA was to be given one date to present all his witnesses but due to exigency, Speaker Dinesh Oraon allowed Navin Jaiswal to produce his remaining witnesses on March 16 along with those of Amar Kumar Bauri’s.
MLAs namely-Randhir Singh, Amar Kumar Bauri, Alok Chaurasia, Navin Jaiswal, Ganesh Kumar Ganjhu and Janki Prasad Yadav- had changed their sides and allegedly defected from JVM to support the ruling BJP.
The change of heart provided additional cushion to the saffron party with 43 members in the House of 81.
The case is going on in the Speakers’ court since long and is said to be in the final stages now.
