A 35-year-old man who ran an online lottery centre was found murdered in his shop on Friday night. The body of Sanjay Patil, a resident of Roadpali, was found by his brother Praveen Patil at his shop in Mahavir Complex in Roadpali.

Prakash Nilewad, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Panvel Division, said, “Patil’s shop was open from 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. On Friday, he called home at 11.15 p.m. and said he would be late as his bike tyre was punctured.”

When Patil did not reach home past midnight, his brother went in search of him. On reaching the shop, he found the shutter half open and his brother lying in a pool of blood. The police said Patil was hit on the head with a sharp object.
