more-in

In a brazen attack, two men shot at a woman while attempting to snatch her handbag in Vidyarayanpura late Friday night.

The victim, Sindhu, was walking towards her friend’s house, which was in the neighbourhood, when the men approached her on a bike.

“The pillion rider tried to snatch her bag, but the victim held on to it and began shouting for help. In retaliation, the pillion rider pushed her to the ground, pulled out an air gun and fired two rounds,” said the police.

She escaped with minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The police are verifying footage from CCTV cameras in the area to identify the attackers.
