Police charge alleged arsonist over two Perth bushfires

WA Police have charged a 27-year-old man with lighting two bushfires in Perth on Thursday and Friday.

The man, from the Wheatbelt town Narembeen, allegedly lit a small scrub fire near the entry to the Graham Farmer Freeway on March 8 between 6:30pm and 7pm before setting fire to bushland on Great Eastern Highway in Darlington on March 9.

The Darlington fire spread and burnt two acres of bushland.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
