RTC to operate nine more high-end buses

Transport Minister to flag off them tomorrow

To cater to the growing demand, the AP State Road Transport Corporation is introducing nine Amaravati multi-axle buses of Volvo-make.

Transport Minister K. Atchannaidu will flag off the new buses in the city bus station at 8.30 a.m. on Monday (March 12). Of the nine buses, four will operate between Vijayawada and Hyderabad, two between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam and three between Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad.

Ministers Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Kollu Ravindra and Y. Ramakrishnudu and MPs and MLAs will be present at the inaugural function.

Free travel

The APSRTC authorities have also announced that students appearing for 10th class (SSC) exams will be allowed to travel free in RTC buses from their home to the exam centre and vice-versa by showing their hall tickets.

This free travel facility will be made available from March 15 to March 28.
