The statue vandalism continues with a statue of the Dalit icon Bhim Rao Ambedkar being allegedly disfigured at Laksar area in Haridwar on Thursday night. The Union minister of State (independent charge) for Power, New and Renewable Energy R K Singh said that strict action should be taken against such elements out to incite tension by razing statues of the stalwarts.
While talking to The Pioneer on the sidelines of his official programme in Dehradun on Friday, Singh said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already cleared the Centre’s stand on the issue and the administration and police should come down heavily on such hooligans.
Asked how he was feeling in the BJP, the bureaucrat-turned politician said that the cultural nationalism being the mascot of the BJP, he was feeling happy.
“Earlier, I used to execute the Government policies and now I am a part of the policy framing body,” he said.
