Tense situation at MCH

more-in

A tense situation prevailed on the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital premises on Friday after a remand prisoner was confirmed dead. The police thwarted an attempt by agitators to hold a protest in front of the Secretariat with the body.

Sajimon, 34, of Parasuvakkal, near Neyyattinkara had been brought to the hospital from the Neyyattinkara sub-jail on Thursday after he complained of uneasiness. The police maintained that he had succumbed to a rabies infection. Sajimon had been arrested by the Parassala police on February 26 on the charge of theft.
