Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select southern destinations turned weak by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following huge availability of trucks against thin cargo movements. Transporters said besides restricted movements of cargo, heavy position of trucks in the market resulted in a fall of some of the southern destinations freight rates. Delhi to Bengaluru, Mysore and Coimbatore freight rates dropped by Rs 1000 each to Rs 60,000, Rs 64,000 and Rs 69,000. Rates to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram also moved down by Rs 1000 each to Rs 72,000 and Rs 80,000. Elsewhere, rest all other centers freight rates hovered around overnight levels on some support.
