Kuntala Rly Mahila Samittee formed
Under the aegis of the Central Staff Benefit Fund of East Coast Railway (ECoR), a women’s body after the name eminent poet and social worker Kuntala Kumari Sabat was formed on the International Women’s Day here on Thursday for empowering the railway women.
The Kuntala Kumari Railway Mahila Samittee was inaugurated by East Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (ECoWWO) president Madhulika Singh in the presence of ECoR Personnel Officer Manju Ray. The ECoWWO donated a masala making unit to the samittee for creating Self-Help Group (SHG) amongst railway women. The samittee has planned to take up various activities like food processing, toiling, and creation of artefacts as well as to organise various cultural functions with involvement of railway women.
