International Women’s Day observed at BHEL

Forum of Women in Public Sector BHEL Bhopal on Thursday observed International Women’s Day with great zeal and fervour.

DK Thakur Executive Director was present as the Chief Guest in the programme organised on the theme ‘Women Leader: Insight to Commitment, Creativity, Collaboration’.

Priyanka Das, Commissioner, Bhopal Municipal Corporation was present as the guest of honour in the programme, while Bhakti Sharma, Sarpanch, Barkheri, Abdullah village was present as the Guest speaker and Pratibha Thakur President BHEL Ladies Club was especially present in the programme.

MS Kinra General Manager (Quality & HR) presided over the programme. Mamta Dhingrocha, President (WIPS), Anita Chandra Vice-President (WIPS), Sima Sinha Treasurer (WIPS) and Shikha Saxena Secretary (WIPS) were especially present in the programme.

Addressing BHEL Bhopal as the empowered sentinel of the nation, Thakur said that the organisation has always been committed to protecting the honour and integrity of the empowered women of the empowered nation. He further throwing light on the contribution of women employees of BHEL Bhopal said that the place which BHEL has established today in the national and international level accounts for equal proportion of women participation.

The women employees are working with equal merit along with their male counterpart in areas of technical, administration and finance. There is no competition among men & women in the society, they both are of equal need for the organisation, family and society and with their assistance only a society, family and organisations existence is possible, added Thakur.

Das briefed on the difficulties and hardship related with women. Laying concern on the abnormal sex ratio still prevailing in certain districts of Madhya Pradesh, she said that the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign started by the Government is a significant step in this direction.

The President of BHEL Ladies Club further said that commitment, creativity and collaboration is women’s general specialty and empowerment of women is not possible without men, at the same time the women should also realise their potential.
