Press Trust of India  |  Coimbatore

A three-month old cub in search of its mother in the estate area, has been rescued by personnel, officials said today. Based on information given by some estate workers about the cub's movement, the officials managed to capture it last evening and took it to the Forest Wildlife Management and Rescue Centre, department sources said. The department was keeping vigil following reports about the movement of a leopardess with three cubs in the area. The cub will be kept in a cage in an area, where the was last seen. Its movement will be monitored when it comes for taking away the cub, so that necessary steps can be taken to prevent the animal venturing into human habitat, they said.
