‘Women must create precedence for them’

We must emphasize on challenging the status quo and creating precedence for women which have been remained bleak continually even after seventy years after independence, said renowned Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore gracing the International Women's Day celebrations as chief guest at KIIT here.

The status quo and the attitude towards feminine gender have been at stake since long. However, it could have been better if the mindset of men would be change. The reality is that the feudal mindset still has not been changed. That's why equitable society still remains a distance dream, added Tagore.

In her presidential address, president, KIIT and KISS Saswati Bal said that women live always with fear. Chairperson of KiiT International School Dr Monalisha Bal gave the welcome address while Prof Hrushikesha Mohanty, VC, KIIT-Deemed University and Dr Sasmitarani Samanta, Registrar, KIIT Deemed University spoke on women empowerment.
