BU fund scam: Primary audit conducted
A three-member team of the Local Fund Audit conducted the primary audit into the alleged irregularities involving Rs 19 crore in the Brahmapur University (BU).
The team led by Finance Department Joint Director (Audit) Sanjay Kumar Das visited the office of Registrar-cum-Finance Controller Sailendra Dwibedi and examined finance documents in the old Syndicate hall.
When contacted, Das said the team would prepare a report after which a detailed investigation would be conducted into the funds irregularities at a later date. Registra Dwibedi said the team conducted a primary report as figures in the university’s cash book and bank pass book. A special team would come from the Finance Department to conduct a special audit.
Besides, a probe has also started into the allegation that cheques and drafts received from students during the last four years have not been deposited in the bank.
