Police have released extraordinary details of an alleged motorbike hoon who they claim has committed a string of extreme speeding offences in the past several weeks.
The Northam motorcyclist is facing almost 50 driving charges. These include allegations he rode his bike at more than 200km/h and 180km/h on other occasions.
The man is facing 47 charges in total.
A major police operation was launched by the Wheatbelt traffic office last month after they identified the rider was behind a string of recent high-speed offences captured on camera.
Senior Sergeant Tony Page said on February 27, an operation was launched to capture the rider after police identified who he was.
Police spoke to him and seized his bike - a Honda CBR1000 Fireblade - later that day after he pulled over for petrol.
After seizing his bike, Sen-Sgt Page and his team trawled through a large amount of speeding offences captured on camera, which they believed were linked to the rider and his bike.
Officers arrested the man on Thursday evening and charged him with 47 offences.
Among the charges he is facing are seven counts of reckless driving, twelve counts of no authority to drive and twelve counts of driving an unregistered vehicle.
Police will allege the man committed the following speeding offences.
- 213km/h on Great Eastern Highway
- 183km/h Roe Highway
- 182km/h Roe Highway
- 169km/h on Toodyay Road
- 161km/h on Roe Highway
- 159km/h Great Eastern Highway
- 152km/h Great Eastern Highway
- 146km/h Roe Highway
- 139km/h on Roe Highway; and
- 130km/h on Roe Highway
Police will allege a lot of the speeding offences were done on the man's route to work, between Northam and Kenwick.
Police will allege the offences were committed between February 6-27.
The man, who is in his mid 30s, has been bailed to face court next month.
