How can I convince my girlfriend that I don't have any feelings for my ex-girlfriend anymore? She brings it up whenever we go out and I'm tired of it.
Trust is one of the foundations of any relationship. If she doesn't trust you, this is doomed. She needs to understand that, so tell her how you feel and ask her if she wants to make this work.
I have been having serious disagreements with my boyfriend for a few months now, over the most trivial things. I think this is because I am no longer as interested in him as I once was, and am subconsciously trying to find a way to end this without too much of a fuss. I know this is unfair to him, but I can't help myself. He's a nice guy and we have had a good time together, but I don't see a future here because he isn't very ambitious and doesn't plan anything the way I do. I know what I want to do over the next five years, for instance, while he doesn't even know what he will do next month. Should I just end this, or give him a chance to change and become someone I can look up to?
Were you aware of how he lived his life when the two of you decided to give this relationship a chance? Has he changed since that time? Do you believe you have changed in some way? Things that attract us about other people can often turn into the very things we dislike, if we change the way we look at them. If you don't see a future with him, and are trying to end this, nothing he does or says can make a difference to how you feel. Is it fair for him to try and turn into something he's not, to make you happy, when you aren't going to give him the benefit of trying to save this? I suggest you think about these things for a while.
